1 / 5

On October 6, the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan received the parliamentary delegation of the U.S. California State.

Welcoming the members of the delegation in parliament, Ara Babloyan highlighted the relations being strengthened year by year between Armenia and the U.S., underlining in that issue the presence and the significant role of the Armenian Diaspora.

In the RA NA Speaker’s word, not only the political, but also the cultural, educational, economic relations are expanded with the U.S.

Ara Babloyan emphasized the U.S. support in the establishment and development of democracy in Armenia.

The RA NA Speaker noted: “I highly assess the U.S. assistance in the creation and establishment of the independent Armenia’s health care system. The first Rehabilitation Center in Armenia was set up by the U.S. assistance, changing the way of thinking and attitude towards the children.”

Talking about the ongoing processes in our country, Ara Babloyan has noted that unlike some neighboring states, Armenia goes on through democracy, freedom of speech and protection of human rights and decentralization of the management system.

Touching upon the NK problem, the RA NA Speaker documented: “Armenia has no territorial problem with Azerbaijan: the issue relates to the people’s right to self-determination. The human being is the highest value, and the protection and security of human rights are important for us. In the civilized world the peace has no alternative; therefore the NK confict should be solved through peaceful means: in the OSCE Minsk Group format.”

The Head of the parliamentary delegation of the U.S. California State Scott Wilk thanked the RA NA Speaker for the reception and introduced to him the members of the delegation, and many of them were Armenians by their origin.

At the end of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the role of the Armenian community of California in the deepening of the relations and cooperation with Armenia.
